Frequently Asked Questions

What are the official futsal court dimensions?

For international matches, FIFA allows futsal courts from 38-42 m (124 ft 8 in-137 ft 10 in) long and 20-25 m (65 ft 7 in-82 ft) wide. A commonly used full-size layout is 40 m x 20 m (131 ft 3 in x 65 ft 7 in). For non-international matches, FIFA permits courts from 25-42 m (82 ft-137 ft 10 in) long and 16-25 m (52 ft 6 in-82 ft) wide.

What size are official futsal goals?

An official futsal goal measures 3 m (9 ft 10 in) wide between the inside of the posts and 2 m (6 ft 7 in) high from the floor to the lower edge of the crossbar. One goal is centered on each end line.

Where are the main futsal court markings placed?

The center circle has a radius of 3 m (9 ft 10 in). Each penalty area is formed using 6 m (19 ft 8 in) measurements from the goalposts, with the first penalty mark 6 m (19 ft 8 in) from goal and the second mark 10 m (32 ft 10 in) from goal. Official court lines are 8 cm (3.15 in) wide.

What surface is suitable for a futsal court?

FIFA specifies a flat, smooth, non-abrasive surface and generally prefers wood or a suitable artificial material. The surrounding area should also provide safe clearance from walls, barriers, and other obstacles. Requirements for sanctioned competition should always be confirmed with the relevant association.

Can I build a custom-sized futsal court?

Yes. Swish can build futsal courts in custom dimensions for homes, schools, clubs, training facilities, and multi-sport areas. The official markings can be scaled to suit the available space when a full competition-size court is not practical.

Which Swish tile series is best for a futsal court?

For futsal and other small-ball sports, we usually recommend Swish Elastic Tiles because they are designed to support consistent ball response while remaining suitable for multi-sport use. The best option also depends on whether the court is indoors or outdoors, the base surface, and the required level of shock absorption.

Can I add custom colors, logos, and multiple sports lines to a futsal court?

Yes. Customers can choose custom colors, add 1 logo at no extra cost, and combine futsal markings with lines for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, or other sports. Different line colors can help keep each game layout easy to identify.

How do Swish futsal court tiles install, and what surface should be underneath?

Swish tiles install like a large puzzle and are designed for DIY-friendly assembly. The base should be solid and stable, such as concrete, pavers, or a properly prepared compacted base. Grass is not suitable. The underside pad system helps improve comfort, shock absorption, sound reduction, durability, and minor surface leveling.
